Chance, Choice & Chaos

It really hurts when you wake up each day trying to dig out what is really making you continue moving forward. The question, more important than anything in the world, is

“Why are we living our lives the way we are?”

If you think about it, the decisions that were taken by chance, directly or indirectly are less prone to guilt rather the ones that we take out of choice. Rewind your life and you realize that the decisions of your childhood and teenage, most of them, were taken by your parents or guardians which should be regarded as the series of chances that occurred to your life. You never chose your teacher at school during your childhood or teenage. The school management have chosen it for you. That implies the knowledge that you have gained was out of chance. So, the application of it was a result of a chance. So, the choices that you take out of that knowledge, that you have gained by chance, should never be the tools to blame yourself. The knowledge that you seek now, as a choice, adds to your wisdom. When you take a decision according to your choice,

This destroys the very idea of free-will. It basically determines that every path that you take out of choice results in a series of regrets and an uncompromising guilt that preys on your brain from inside. It happens that we often come to conclusion that let the chance decide for me instead of sharpening my choice. With a little experience with the real world and not much interference into the greed & ambition of humans, its quite impossible to make a rational choice and be happy with it for the rest of your life.

Choice co-exists with vision

Unless you have a confident plan including the math of calculating different alternatives if the chosen path goes wrong, and a futuristic vision that creates a foundation for your choice, there is no point in taking one. What are the different ways of dealing with this conflict? The choice-chance conflict. Before we dwell into various ways of living through, we should understand that universe always moves towards chaos. Because chaos is the only way to not to get destroyed.

Only ordered things can be broken, disfigured and destroyed. Chaos is immutable

And hence universe avoids being ordered. So, every moment in your life is surrounded by chaos. It would only be foolish to not understand the importance of chaos. It is true even if you are a person who decorates himself as an order-oriented person. As we reach order, there would be nothing to think or act upon. This makes a person impossible to live side-by-side with the rest of the world which is in a continual state of chaos. This man, either has to sit with a satisfaction of him being in order, which is again only for a momentary lapse, or have to try and change others to be in order which takes hell lot of a work. Chaos + Order = Chaos. Changing others again contradicts his idea to be orderly because he would be doing a lot of thinking, sacrificing his ambitions and dreams only to bring order in others. That is a dead end that any person who tries order would never dare to take.

It implies that you simply can’t change anything. Only a chance can do. So, our choices are in a different realm from the one where your chances are occurring. To be more precise, as soon as you take a choice, the result of it will be created in a space that is bigger than you, an entire universe. So, expecting your choice to bring order in others and there by the universe, would be like, you working hard to reach the deadline and expecting that your colleagues had done the same. You guys don’t share the same desperation for the same choice. For him, it might be a chance and you, a rational choice. However, in both cases, as universe moves towards chaos, MOST of the times, it designs the same outcome. It opens up another possibility that, if a reasonably large portion of humans try and make a single choice, does it alter the path of universe? YES. As Always, there is a but. It does incline the path towards that choice but the chance of its outcome to be the same for everyone is again inexplicable. A choice that has worked for someone doesn’t necessarily be the right one for you. The reason being, your lives are going in two different paths and there by heading towards two different destinations based on the series of choices that you have taken and chances that had occurred to you.

Example: Let’s say your friend invested in cryptocurrency at the same moment when you have invested. Both of you made equal profits. But are the expectations and the satisfactions on the outcome, the same for each other? You can check with your friend, NO! It is to be noted that, your friend is an indirect shareholder of your profit and vice-versa. The increase of value attributes to the demand and your friend buying alongside you was vital enough for the event of you making profits to be possible.

You just got lucky! That is all!!

Acceptance of this equality of consequence and moving on with chaos should be the mantra

Moving on from the regretful choices and accepting the weight of chance and there by realizing the much needed existence of chaos should make us move forward. Your intentions may be good, humane and kind and could change the very fortune of the unfortunate and yet, your choice might kill you with guilt. You ought to destroy someone’s career and at times, you shall be blessed with a chance. Either way, the supposed order of unfortunate getting better lives or someone’s hard earned career continuing as it is, would be thrown into chaos attributing to one aim of the universe.
